Beginning this post with some super cuteness!

It's Martin Luther King day and dad and I both have the day off! After spending the morning shopping at Shopko and then visiting teaching for me and hunting down a snowblower part for your dad we are now home enjoying the quiet and warmth of our home!

Dad is preparing a talk he will be giving soon and I am baking bread and making potato soup and blogging! I have put my phone on the piano and am enjoying some quiet time from my phone which seems to ping a lot!

I found this saying on the Our Simple Living Blog and it seems to say what I'm feeling today:
'...Living simple is learning how to take care of yourself; it is knowing that whatever tomorrow brings, you will handle it with grace and humility, and it means that you can live on less and be happy about it'.
That's the challenge isn't it? To be happy without all the things that the world promises will bring us happiness. But as we all come to learn, things don't bring happiness. What brings happiness are the less tangible things in life, pictures of sweet babies, clean sheets on the bed, a special scripture that leaps out at you. That's happiness and I hope that each of you finds it and treasures it daily!

Love you,
Mom
